renew your face

So, I spent the past weekend in Chitown and when I woke up Monday morning to go to work I wasn't looking quite as fresh faced as I would've liked. For moments like this I have the most amazing product you'll ever put your little hands on! I'm not a big fan of face masks because in the past I thought they were BS...honestly, I never saw results. I swear my face even looked worse after some of the cheap masks I slathered on.  I was anti-mask until I received a sample of this stuff from Sephora (and now own the bottle)  and seriously even after the first time you use it you will become hooked. You only put it on for 10 minutes and your skin ends up glowing like you just got a facial. Ah-mazing.

Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask - 50ml/1.7ozREN- Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask $55.00 So it's not the cheapest stuff ever but you can keep throwing your money away on cheaper masks that don't work or actually buy something that will make a difference! Also, it's a mask you don't use it everyday so it will last you an extremely long time. I like using it just once a week or whenever my face needs some TLC. It has zero bad chemicals in it- so no petrochemicals, parabans, sulfates etc...it's basically just a fruit-acid complex. It's a clear orangy colored gel that you put on your face that smells like heaven and doesn't turn into a weird color once it dries. I don't even think it dries really. After 10 minutes take a damp cloth and wash your face off and you will be glowing. It removes dead skin cells (seriously, it looked like I had been to war once I came back from Chicago) and even reduces the appearance of any fine lines you might have. This product was on the list of InStyle's beauty buys and I promise you anyone that comes across will be come just as obsessed as I am. Go get it at Sephora (they might be able to give you a sample if you're one of those afraid of commitment types) or get it online!

  1. Do you ever get peels at the dermo? I have a love/hate relationship with them...

  3. I've actually never gotten a professional peel. I know quite a few people that do and I feel like once you start you can't stop...not sure if that's always the case.
What kind of peel do you get done?

  4. I think I've had a couple different types, but most recently done a beta peel. I was getting them pretty regularly leading up to my wedding and the result were great, BUT... ive gotten really bad burns with some in the past. One time I litterally looked like a burn victim and my students were scared of me... Other than not wanting to leave the house for a week because I was mortified, the new skin underneath looked great! Although, I do know others who have gotten them and have never had a bad experience so i guess it depends on your skin. And i will say that I've had far less burns with the beta peels (I cant remember the name of the other I tried). I havent really gotten them regularly in the past couple years but I know it works best when you do them in a series. The other "pro" is that they're covered by most insurance companies.

  5. How do you get them covered by insurance companies? What's the diagnosis? I haven't felt inclined to do one yet but I'm sure eventually I will succumb! You have great skin I would lay off the peels and start using a skin regimen system like Skinceuticals or Obagi instead! Go to your a derm that sells either skin line and they will know what works best for your skin- these products are great! Be kind to your beautiful face!

  6. I think the insurance is because they are used to treat acne, which is why I started getting them in the first place. Surprisingly, I remember you telling me about the Obagi in SC. I'll have to check them out!
