hair's the scoop

Seriously, it has been ages since I last blogged since I couldn't even figure out how to log on to the damn site.  Lo siento amigas! I also don't think I've had a haircut since my last blog post.  Looked in the mirror today and realized I'm looking like a bootleg brunette rapunzel. Time to get my hair cut. I think the reason I didn't realize how long my hair actually has gotten is because it's stayed healthy due to the most ah-mazing shampoo and conditioner ever created.

Carol's Daughter- Monoi Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner $18 and $20- Seriously, the scent is absolutely unreal. Based on scent alone if it made me go bald there's a chance I would still use it- it's that heavenly. It claims that after a single use you will have 96% less breakage. I don't know how the hell to test that but I'm sure their claims aren't exactly accurate. However, my hair is insanely long and I believe the reason I didn't notice is because this shampoo and conditioner has kept my hair extremely healthy! If you're wanting to grow your hair out this should be a staple in your shower! It's good for all hair types and the people I've recommended it to so far are high school puppy love obsessed with this stuff. At least go sniff it at Ulta or Sephora and thank me later.

Promise to not play anymore disappearing acts. cheers xx

moisture eyes

One of my favorite things to do in life is laugh. I constantly laugh at myself, laugh at others and even laugh when I'm nervous or scared. To me nothing is sexier than someone who can make you laugh. Unfortunately, laughing and smiling a lot can cause wrinkles. Trust me I would rather end up looking like a Shar Pei when I'm older knowing every line on my face was of a life well lived then live my life without laughter. However, I am greedy (and a bit vain) and know that there are certain steps I can take to enjoy both laughter and great skin. Eyes can show the first signs of aging and for now I would rather not inject my face with poison to erase wrinkles so I am going to try all the moisturizers around...

Benefit- It's Potent! Eye Cream $32 When I first bought this eye cream I wasn't quite sold on it (and we all know how much I obsess over anything Benefit) I live in the land of instant gratification and since I instantly didn't see ah-mazing results I was rather disappointed. However, I purchased it and therefore figured I might as well stick with it and ended up using up the entire pot (which lasts you quite a long time)  I am now quite impressed with this little pot. So impressed that I am now going to go buy another adorable pot. The reason I am committing to this eye moisturizer is because it is extremely moisturizing and it did fade my dark circles a bit and has brightened up my eyes. It claims to also be able to erase fine wrinkles. Everyone has such sensitive skin around your eyes that it's critical to have a deep moisturizing cream and this one has really made a difference! So, if you are like me and are just starting to realize you spend most of your days laughing like a damn hyena and realize that laughter will end up showing on your face go get this stuff since you will be really pleased with the results.  You can buy this eye cream at your Benefit store, Macy's, Ulta or Sephora!

erase her

Today's blog is for all of us who before we go out end up looking like a raccoon and are desperately trying to remove some of that horrid eye makeup without having to re-do everything. There is one thing that is clear in life I could've never been a surgeon. My hands shake and my makeup ends up everywhere. Therefore, I couldn't survive without Q-tips. So you know the drill dip the Q-tip in eye make up remover which you always manage to spill everywhere then get beyond frustrated and think why the hell can't they just have Q-tips pre-filled with this crap in it?! Take a deep breath chicas since the day is finally here...

Almay-Makeup Eraser Sticks $5 I found this hidden gem at Target when I believe I went in for coffee and ended up with a cart full of random items that ranged from food items to clothing to beauty products (and, naturally I forgot to buy the coffee) However, this trip was well worth all the money spent because of this single item. I cannot express how excited and happy I am that these makeup eraser sticks exist and they happen to be made by my favorite eye makeup remover brand Almay! These are quite self explanatory you snap the side with the purple line and watch as the makeup remover drips down to the other side and then like magic it will erase those horrid raccoon eyes and make you look sexy and human again. Honestly, if you stress out about putting eye makeup like I do run and purchase these your life is about to get a lot happier! You can find these miracle sticks at your local drugstores and Target!

designer cuts

Band-Aid's aren't exactly a beauty product but for someone who's as accident prone as I am they start to become a fashion staple in my life. I've always seen the cute Hello Kitty one's and then there's Sponge Bob but not exactly quite the professional look I need for work and I don't have bambinos so I can't really blame it on them. So, after a typical paper cut that I never have a clue how I get I dashed over to Target to buy some Band-Aid's and screamed when my eyes came in contact with this...

Cynthia Rowley Limited Edition Band-Aid- $5 Do I even need to blog about this? Just go get them you will be ecstatic to get a paper cut from now on! I bought them at Target not quite sure where else you can get them!

bee bee cream

I'm alive. I'm sure you were all worried. Work has been consuming my life and the ridiculously nice weather has been forcing me to consume drinks on every patio in this city. Forgive me por favor.
So, even though I've been surrounded by work or booze I naturally still have found time to try some products that I think you chicas will love. I'm sure you chicas have heard about BB Cream's they seem to be all the buzz this year. If you haven't basically they've been super popular in Asian countries to perfect your skin tone. You can wear it as a primer or alone to replace your usual foundation.

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfecter B.B. Cream - $12.99 Almost every brand at Sephora carries a B.B. Cream right now but I decided to start with the one available at CVS and Walgreens just to see what all this hype is about. I am so used to being able to try everything at Sephora that without even questioning myself for a second I ripped out the tube from the packaging and squirted a big glop on my hand to just feel the texture and see the color before I decided to purchase it.  Normal protocol right? Well, naturally when I looked up a CVS worker was glaring at me so I just smirked and tossed the damn thing in my basket like I was going to purchase it all along. However, I became ecstatic to slather this crap all over my face after I read the packaging while waiting in the checkout lane I mean have you read the name? Skin Renew? Miracle? Skin Perfector? For $12.99??? I literally felt like I had found the fountain of youth at aisle 3 in CVS.
So what happened when I put it on and my skin the second I walked through my door? Well, no I don't look 21 again however I definitely right away had glowing and healthier skin. It seriously reminds me of Dr. Perricone's No Foundation Foundation (which if you read my blog I l-o-v-e)  but it doesn't last as long. Also, I wasn't really liking it as a primer since it doesn't last as long I feel like it didn't really do anything. Just an FYI if you decide to wear it as foundation alone please make sure you carry the tube with you throughout the day so you can touch up here and there. I was ready to basically just stay unimpressed and bitch about this fake advertising on my blog until randomly I found an unconventional way of using it. Now I'm actually obsessed with this damn thing. Go buy this stuff (I'm sure you will ignore what I said and still try it as a primer and foundation and not be satisfied and then do what I just wrote about and become just as obsessed as me) put your foundation on as usual (I swear by liquid foundation if you wear powder can't promise this will work) and wait about 2 minutes then apply a little bit of this B.B. Cream on top of my foundation. Your face will look absolutely flawless. Seriously, try it...

I've missed you guys! Promise to not go MIA for as long again!

oh watt a glow

Unfortunately, the wickedly cold temperatures during the winter months can wreak havoc on our skin. There is absolutely nothing sexy about dull skin (dull anything for that matter) In winter I'm mostly concerned with my face since it's all you can see. Seriously, 90% of my body is usually wrapped in layers upon layers and topped off with my coat which is clearly just a down comforter with sleeves. One of the easiest ways to add some life to that dull winter face is by applying a highlighter/luminzer to your cheeks. One of my most favorite chicas got me one of my now favorite beauty staples which has helped brightened up my face this winter.

BeneFit- Watt's Up! $30 My friend obviously reads my blog (I mean we wouldn't be friends if she didn't) and is extremely aware of my BeneFit addiction. Somehow I had not purchased this yet. It's the most natural glow you can get. I like my other highlighters but this one is so subtle it's almost like a sexy candlelit dinner glow.  Love it. It blends so easily and you can't over apply it. Most importantly you won't look like a disco ball like Nars' Super Orgasm once made me look. The perfect amount of glow for these winter months. It adds a delicate champagne color to your skin so you an apply it solo or on top of your favorite blush.  One side is the highlighter and the other is a sponge. I tried blending it with the sponge but feel it blends better just using your fingers. Add a little glow to these dull months and test it out at Benefit, Sephora or Ulta!

blow drying blows

My close friends know that one of the things I despise most (besides loud chewers, bright lights and bad vino) is blow drying my hair. There is nothing worse. Seriously, how awful is it? I have threatened friends to not go out with them unless they dry my hair and out of pure desperation have offered to pay them to dry it for me. So, out of the kindness of her heart or because she couldn't handle hearing me bitch and moan about drying my hair my ah-mazing friend gave me one of the best gifts ever for my birthday!

CHI Air Ceramic Hair Dryer Pure Pink- $100  I laughed when I opened my gift since out of all friends she's probably heard "seriously, I will pay you if you just dry my hair for me pleasssseeeeeee" more than anyone else. The first thing that got me excited was that it's pink. Then I picked it up and it was super light. So maybe for once it wouldn't feel like I was doing bicep curls while drying my hair. This was a good start. Not to mention she lives in Florida so it's hard to convince her to fly to Chitown to dry my hair. Eventually I would have to accept the fact that I have to do it. So the big day came when I had to put it to use and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't feel like I was sticking my head in a volcano and my hair didn't start smoking. My hair seriously takes ages to dry that both of those situations do happen quite frequently. The biggest surprise was that it really did dry my hair faster! I thought about putting my old hair dryer and new CHI to the test and time how much faster the CHI dried my hair. However, I can't think of anything worse then doing that- I love you guys but not that much. It's definitely way faster just take my word for it. I still despise drying my hair, that will never change. Because of this pink CHI now drying my hair has become more manageable and maybe I bitch a little less...
If you share my hatred for blow drying invest in this and make that wretched daily activity a bit more pleasant! Go purchase it at Target, Ulta or Overstock (or bitch and moan to one of your friends until they cave and get it for you like my wonderful friend did)
