spray me down

Hell, there's even a famous play about hairspray. That's how damn important it is. Someone ask Justin Beiber, seriously, I'm sure his life would be over without it. There is not a day that I don't use hairspray. Even if I go to the gym I use it.  I'm picky (obviously) and I've tested A LOT of hairsprays out there. My requirements are that my hairspray is nothing like what women killed the ozone with in the 80's.  So, that means that it's not sticky, smells good, doesn't leave my hair feeling crunchy and that it just plain works. You'd think these would be easy requirements. Unfortunately, there have been many hairsprays that have failed me by insisting on wanting to be used for crimped hair and feathered bangs.

Victoria's Secret- So Sexy Style Hold & Finish Hairspray $14 (or 3/$24) Based on my blog you would think I was getting paid by Vicki's but unfortunately that's not the case. I buy this stuff (along with their dry shampoo) in bulk. I'm so crazy scared they will discontinue it so naturally I think I can single handily help keep demand up if I keep purchasing this stuff (see mom and dad I did learn something in my Econ classes at State)...and I figure if I blog about this maybe you guys will help increase demand?! This stuff is perfect. Smells good (again my hair should smell better post spray than it did before) and it has the perfect hold without ever getting stick or crunchy (I mean what's sexy about running your fingers through you hair and have your hand get stuck in your hair) The smell might be a little intense at first but don't panic it fades away and it by no means will over power you. They have testers at the store so just hop on in and spray yourself down (and thank me later)

Frederic Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray, Professional Size 11.6 oz (42 ml)Frederic Fekkai- Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray $24 I also love this stuff. Shockingly (or maybe not so shockingly) I love my cheaper Vicki's stuff more. This is a very close second, though.  It has Avocado Oil in it that also gives you a beautiful shine. It's light, it smells good, it's not sticky at all and I think it has a better hold than the So Sexy. I think some of you would prefer this hairspray.  It's a bit pricey but honestly it's worth the money and it will last you a long time- and remember you only have one set of hair people!

L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray, Extra Strong Hold, 11 OunceL'Oreal-Elnett Satin Hairspray $6.99 I read about this damn product for years- beauty magazine's hyped it up to be the most amazing thing I would ever lay my hands on. I'm not kidding- Vogue even had an article about it. So, clearly, the day it came out in the US I was that crazed woman trying to desperately be the first to get her hands on it. My review is going to end here about this spray because the smell made me want to vomit. I didn't care if it worked, I refused to ever spray it on my damn head ever again. Gross.  Nothing is worth smelling like that. Use at your own risk. It might be perfect for girls on the runway but that's because they're too far away to be able to smell them.

I honestly am so loyal to my So Sexy hairspray I haven't had the need to try out another hairspray in years. Isn't that scary? If I run out of hairspray and there's no Vicki's around (this is an extreme rarity) I have purchased Dove's Flexible Hold Hairspray. Nothing fancy about it just smells and works pretty good especially for the price!

Happy Hump Day

  2. Yeah! Glad you're loving them- I seriously can't live without either product! If you ever put too much shine spray in your hair (or other product) the dry shampoo helps with that too! My ponytails always look better if I spray dry shampoo in my hair first...just a few tips :)
