This is essential- yes, as in not optional. I don't use this everyday but if you want you can. This adds a glow to your cheeks and makes you look youthful and healthy. You can also mix some highlighter into your foundation if you want an overall glow. When I say "glow" I mean as in J. Lo's beautiful glow not looking like you sprayed Crisco on your face. The goal is to look illuminated but not like a disco ball. So if you're testing products and you see
any resemblance of glitter in the product- RUN. Glitter on my face reminds me of a bad phase in high school that shouldn't ever be relived. If you are older than 8 years of age stay far far far away from it.
B
enefit- High Beam $25 (Sephora has a travel size one priced at $10) This was the first highlighter I ever used and no matter what I try I tend to go back to it. It's a satiny pink that gives a very subtle color and a beautiful glow. I put it on my cheekbones after my foundation and blush. This stuff is known as "supermodel in a bottle." Clearly that sold me. However, I quickly realized that it wont make you super skinny or grow your hair but what they meant by the supermodel thing is that it will give you that Gisele Bundchen healthy glow. Which, hell, I won't say no to that. If you use it correctly this bottle can easily last you a full year. Ah-mazing. Remember that 'Finding Mr. Bright' set I recommended to all you chicas when I wrote about the Erase Paste? Well this is one of the products that comes in that set....buy it at Sephora, Ulta, or Amazon!!! Also, this brand has a similar product called Moon Beam that's white...don't bother with that one, stick to the O.G....trust me.
Lancome- Éclat Miracle
$37 This stuff is miraculous. Again, Lancome you never cease to fail me. No shimmer or glitter or crap in it-just sheer perfection in a tube. This stuff is amazing to mix in with your foundation to give you a bit of a summer dewy healthy look (just a drop or two is plenty!!!) I also love this to highlight your cheeks with. It doesn't add any color just a nice little glow. I know it's on the pricier end but the thing with these highlighters is that you use a super tiny amount so they really last you a long time- promise! This stuff is extremely light and isn't sticky at all. I'll admit it I am pretty obsessed with it. Don't second guess yourself- it's worth the money. Like I say you only have one face and people are staring at it everyday. Make it look good. Buy it at deparment stores or (of course) Sephora.
I will write another blog about my favorite powder highlighters....yes, I've tried all those too! I tend to like the liquid ones more because I truly think it blends into your skin better and looks more natural. However, I know a lot of you reading this like powders so I promise to write about my faves soon!
Alright, chicas it's Friday night and that means it's time to enjoy some (ok, lots of) vino!!!
xx
