she lacks no chips

I have never understood girls who can keep their manicure for over a week. Seriously, aliens to me. I swear the second I step out of the nail salon and into my car it's guaranteed I've screwed at least one of them up. I can't sit still. Ever. So I had pretty much given up on manicures until the manicurist (working on my toes) uttered the words "shellac" to me. At first I got defensive and thought what do you mean "she lacks"?! Why are you talking about me....what the hell am I lacking?! That's until she brought out this strange bottle and explained to me that my wonderful OPI color of choice "don't know jaques" could last me two weeks. Since I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt (I like to think of myself as being an optimist....not gullible) I succumbed to her peer pressure. The manicure took longer than I like to sit still... and annoyingly she put my hands under this UV light  for quite some time when she suddenly told me to wash my hands. What?! I usually don't wash my hands for an hour after my damn manicure because I swear it's never fully dry. Against every nail polish rule I've ever been told I washed my hands. This caused me to almost jump up for joy and shriek at the top of my lungs, miraculously my nails were dry...and perfect!
Since I am a bit of a disaster they didn't last the full two weeks but trust me it was worth EVERY penny (which was $5.00 more than a normal manicure) Make sure you don't do what I do and peel of the nailpolish once it eventually chips. It will destroy your nails. However, if you just go back to the nail salon they will remove it for you and your nails will be perfectly healthy.
I recently went to Chitown and that's when my friends informed me that it also goes by the name "No Chip", which clearly would've saved the whole "she lacks" paranoia conversation....

Unless you're one of those aliens that leave the salon with perfect nails and can make their manicures last...invest in this miracle product! Call your nail salon to see if they carry Shellac or No Chip...most of them do.

  2. They are definitely worth it, I swear by them now! Please make sure you don't peal them off yourself, though, so mad at myself for doing that! Glad you're liking the blog! Hope all is well with you! Cheers!

  3. I'm on week 3. And while my nails are starting to look a little skanky, the polish is still there! So glad you gave the "don't peel" warning cause I just started getting back to those bad habits a couple days ago...
