Oil On MY Face?!

I love olive oil (must be the half Spanish part of me) and I've heard of using it in masks and for hair etc. but I had never heard of another oil called Argan oil. This was until my cousin introduced it to me as being solid gold. This was over a year ago (so before the Moroccan hair oil craze began) I was a little- ok, very skeptical- to try this on my face. What if I broke out??!! I'd have to buy the entire shelf of Clean and Clear at CVS!
Well, kids...it's ah-mazing! I am obsessed with it. Right now I only use it at night.  This stuff smells like oil (don't freak out) but it is the best moisturizer ever. It's 100% organic and natural which is a huge bonus. It's supposed to be good for wrinkles and other anti-aging issues. I honestly have noticed a big difference in my skin. Also, it absorbs into your skin and don't worry your face doesn't look like you slathered Vaseline all over it (which initially is exactly how I pictured myself looking) It is also good for skin irritation and inflammation and drum roll please... it's good for skin with acne! Now I know you think I'm full of it. It's true... do your own damn research if you don't believe me! I have NEVER broken out once by applying this magic potion on my face.

Shockingly, I didn't purchase my Argan oil at Sephora because this was pre Josie Maran's natural Argan line. So I went on Amazon and researched a million Argan oil's and this is the lucky winner I picked:

Argan Oil- Organic Argan Oil $32
Buy it at Amazon.com! The packaging isn't anything fabulous but it makes it that much more natural and authentic in my world (my major in college was Marketing and I'm still suckered into buying things because they look "pretty"- so sad, I know) Use sparingly, it will last you a long time.

Josie Maran- Argan Oil $48
So I flipped when I realized that Sephora started carrying Argan oil for your face. One it assured me that I wasn't putting cooking oil on my face. Two it made me realize that loving this oil wasn't so weird. I was ready to toss out my Amazon purchase because obviously anything Sephora carries is so much better. Well, this time Sephora you failed me. I opened the bottle and the smell was just not right. I prefer the one I have. However, she does have an Argan Oil that has bronzer in it. I may succumb to having to purchase it for summer...and actually wear it during the day. I'm not against this Argan oil I'm sure it is lovely and works wonders (and the packaging is way cuter) but the one I have is cheaper and I love it.

I hope you have faith in me and purchase this. Seriously, it's affordable. I also own La Mer and though I love it... the cost of it is stroke inducing!

  2. Good to see your pretty face on this thing!
Glad you bought it- you will love! It's natural, healthy and super moisturizing for your skin! Someone I know was preggo with twins and put this oil on her tummy and had zero stretch marks (twins!) so I have faith in this stuff!
