I was beyond excited to move to Chicago during summer to actually not spend another summer in a steam room and naturally news reports in Florida are discussing how brutally hot it is here. Typical. I hate wearing makeup in weather when it's going to drip off so I started thinking of what I can do to improve my skin. That's when I came across an article in Allure called the "10 Commandments of Anti-aging" that I completely agree with! I'm sure you've heard all of these before but it's critical and doing these things will keep you looking young and feeling healthy!
1. Wear Sunscreen- and not just at the beach.
2. Quit Smoking! (serious- it gives u wrinkles, bad breath, yellow teeth and cancer. sick)
3. Use a Retinoid (one of the best anti-aging products that works)
4. Stay Hydrated (have u ever looked at your face after a bender?! scary)
5. Sleep Well.
6. Maintain a Healthy Weight (the more your weight fluctuates the harder it is to get back into shape since it loses elasticity...put the cookie down)
7. Eat Right (you are what you eat. truth- at least start taking a multivitamin if you aren't already. again, put the cookie down)
8. Get Moving (blood flow helps you get glowing skin- even if it's just 30 minutes a day)
9. Try to Relax.
10. Don't Pick.
I needed this refresher since I've been so excited to be in the city I've been non-stop lately. Remember to think of your body as a whole and not in parts. Things you do through eating, exercising, drinking and smoking affect your face and everywhere else. I swear by vitamins, water, retinoid's and sunscreen. Just incorporating these few things will make a huge difference in your skin!
xx
